Can you picture what your child will be look like or be like in 10, 15 or 20 years?! Sometimes it’s hard to imagine that our young children will become adults one day and all grown up!
When you’re in the midst of taking kids to school, packing lunches and running around between activities and appointments it sometimes may seem like the days pass by slowly, especially if you’re in the midst of supporting your child through their daily challenges.
Just remember, that all of the time, love, teaching and dedication you invest in children is making a positive difference. Whatever role you’re in, you play a huge part in building a child’s lifelong skills, their sense of self and independence.
I’ve been and OT for 20 years which means some of the babies and kids I’ve worked with are all grown up! It’s always fun for me to hear how kids are doing years later. I had this opportunity this past February at Night To Shine.
Night to Shine is a fabulous event sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation to celebrate people with special needs. Every February, churches from around the world host the special Night To Shine Event for people with special needs ages 14 and older.
It’s an incredible event where young people are treated like royalty and guests of honor for this special event. It’s almost like a formal prom night out, complete with dinner and dancing and the highlight of a special “coronation” for each guest… the kings and queens of the night.
